Mama Trattoria Köln City, Köln (Cologne), Germany (September 8th 2023)

We were at the Mama Trattoria Köln City for a lovely Sunday lunch, and I had the Spaghetti Con Pancetta e Finferli from their specials menu, which was oh-so-creamy and had a wonderful salty and savory flavor brought by the pancetta and the mushrooms.

I also had a glass of their house-made Orange-Ginger-Basil Soda, which had a refreshingly spicy taste and helped wash away the greasiness of the pasta.
I very much recommend that you try both items when you visit there!
LOUIS Café am Dom, Köln (Cologne), Germany (September 11th 2023)
LOUIS Café am Dom was just the perfect place for us to relax and unwind after walking around the impressive Museum Ludwig, thanks to the cozy yet also trendy decor and the delicious desserts and beverages!

I had the Blueberry Chocolate Cheesecake, which had the tartness of the blueberries, the cream cheese, and the moist chocolate cake all come together to deliver a flavor that was admittedly way more delicious than I had in mind, and I also had a cup of their Matcha Dalgona to sip on in between bites of the wonderful cake, and the cool, refreshing, milky goodness paired very well with the cake, too!

We shall definitely visit here again and you should too if you want to relax and try some delicious sweet treats!
Gogo Matcha Korean Restaurant, Köln (Cologne), Germany (September 11th 2023)

Since we were in the mood for something Spicy.mp3, we made our way to Gogo Matcha!
I had ordered the delicious Cheese Buldak, which very much lived up to its name as it was quite cheesy, certainly spicy (the “Bul” from Buldak means fire…), and I can also guarantee that whatever meat was on that plate was most definitely chicken (…whereas the “Dak” means chicken)! What I also really liked about the dish was that it was spicy (like actually spicy for once) but still had a lovely savory flavor to it. I just can’t stress enough about how you should try the Cheese Buldak at Gogi Matcha!
Cahua – The Secret Chocolate Lab, Koblenz, Germany (February 17th 2024)

Being able to choose what specific kind of chocolate you want for your Hot Chocolate to be made from is an amazingly novel idea, and here at LLAMASODA we have a very soft spot for cool things!
After roaming the quiet yet pretty streets of Koblenz, we took a little break at the secret chocolate lab of Cahlua, and I got myself a cup of their Chai Chocolate with their 40% Sweet Whole Milk Chocolate (the beans are from Costa Rica), and WOW. Rich and creamy, along with a hint of spice, I must say that it was one of the best Hot Chocolates I’ve ever had!

My friend and I also shared a Dark Chocolate and White Chocolate Brownie, which were deliciously sweet and were a great companion to my Chai Chocolate!

Mary Street 120, Pyeongtaek, South Korea (April 12th 2024)

I had the delicious Miso Burger and opted for the Squid Ink bun, and the sweet and savory flavors just melded together in such great harmony! The best thing about the burger was that I was not left with the greasy feeling one typically has after eating a thick and juicy burger like this one, as even with all the flavors, it still was light and gentle with my stomach. If you’re in the area craving some great burgers, Mary Street 120 is THE place to go to!
Bee & Honey, Pyeongtaek, South Korea (August 3rd 2024)
Bee & Honey is a delightful little cafe that’s a bit far away from the city (two things to keep in mind: ONE! Make sure you have a car or a Kakao Taxi ready, as public transportation isn’t as reliable. TWO! If you have the English version of Naver Maps, you won’t find the entry for Bee & Honey because they have it on there as “Beol & Honey” on the map, but tapping on it will show “Cafe Bee & Honey”… And the weird thing is that entering these three different names on the search bar yields no results, so click here so you won’t have to suffer like I did!), and as the name suggests, the stars of the show are the bees and the honey!

I first tried their special Honeycomb Iced Latte, which was pleasantly smooth and not as strong, which I appreciated, as it paired pretty well with the sliced honeycomb that came on the side! I had never eaten honeycomb before, so I dropped the whole thing in the latte and stirred it, which brought an even sweeter taste. To this day (I’m rewriting this entry on 21st December 2025), I still find myself thinking about how I was supposed to consume the honeycomb…

Next was the Milk Ice Cream with Honeycomb, with the milky ice cream being so soft and smooth, while the honeycomb and the biscuits (?) added to the sweetness and also brought a slightly chewy, crunchy texture. This dessert was definitely another reminder that milk and honey together make for an elite combo!
It really made me happy to have come to Bee & Honey, because I love honey for many reasons: firstly, a very dear friend of mine’s family has a honey business, it’s sweet and I love all things that are sweet, and most importantly, I have a very soft spot for bees and am grateful for all that they do for our planet! While it probably is not true, I’d still like to believe that the deliciousness of the honey reflects the happiness of the bees being taken care of there!

Archive Cafe, Pyeongtaek, South Korea (August 3rd 2024)
Big and fancy like a grand hotel, I stepped into Archive Cafe looking haggard and like someone not so fancy, although in my defense, I had walked for almost three hours from Bee & Honey because none of the taxis responded to my call, and I desperately needed a break and a refreshment before continuing my arduous journey back home!
Enough whining; let’s talk about the food!

I had the Something Something Cake (I forgot the name, sorry…), which had a cheesecake-like appearance (maybe it WAS a cheesecake?) and a buttery, flaky crust, along with a sweet potato-like taste. One more thing I noted was the cream under the strawberry, which had a firmness and taste reminiscent of refrigerated butter…

You know I HAVE to always have a drink in hand, so I also got myself the Passionfruit Soda, which offered a lovely contrast between the bitter soda and the refreshing sweetness of the passionfruit puree. As always, the seeds were included, and they brought a nice crunch with every sip!

NUDAKE Haus Dosan, Seoul, South Korea (September 17th 2024)

Nudake merges desserts with unrivaled creativity and charm in a way you won’t find anywhere else!
To accompany my smooth and refreshing Iced Peak Green Tea Latte (the creamy foam was to die for), I had microbites of my tiny and sweet Microissant, which was as flaky and buttery as a regular-sized croissant (how they achieved that feat is a mystery to me), and the Tomato 2 (available in-store only), which was a wobbly tomato jelly with a center you have to crack open that had a pretty interesting taste (it wasn’t quite for me but I’d still give an A for creativity)!…
Definitely visit this coffee shop if you’re looking to experience one of Seoul’s most unique offerings!
AMATAN, Anseong, South Korea (September 24th 2024)

While my friends and I were shopping at Starfield Anseong for a quick lunch break, I got myself the Shirunashi Tantanmen and the Potato & Shrimp Croquettes from Amatan!
The Shirunashi Tantanmen had a spicy, deliciously savory sauce hidden beneath a generous serving of bean sprouts and noodles (with the perfect texture), which were perfectly soaked by the ground meat. There was also a good amount of nuts in the dish, which elevated it by not only adding texture but also complementing the spicy sauce. The dish also had a side of kimchi (always welcome), pickled radish, and a bowl of soup.
As for the Potato & Shrimp Croquettes, they were crisp and hot as a Texan summer, and the added mild shrimpy flavor to the potato dish made for a great experience! The accompanying sauce was pretty good and enhanced the croquettes’ flavors as well!
WET FINGER, Seoul, South Korea (September 29th 2024)

WET FINGER definitely quelled my raging hunger with their Cream Cheese Philly Cheesesteak Set when I was out and about in Seoul a little while ago!
Each and every aspect of the sandwich was great: from the buttery and soft bread (with a crispness on the bottom, yes please!) to the cheesy cream cheese, which held the juicy beef and the lovely onions that brought a distinct savoriness and depth of flavor. Aside from the sandwich, the fries were hot (to go), crisp and thick, and the pickle was pickle-y and surprisingly spicy!

Wet Finger is called Wet Finger for a reason: the food is just too Finger Lickin’ Good™ (whoops, wrong brand!)
Takumi Nagasaki, Seoul, South Korea (September 30th 2024)

The Seoul Express Bus Station has a wealth of food joints to hit up and fill your belly with, and after spending too much time deciding on what to eat, we decided to go to Takumi Nagasaki!
I ordered their famous Pork Cutlet (though I’m unsure which one I had, as they offered a variety), which was quite soft and juicy. One thing that I found interesting was that there was a slight delay before the flavor of the pork hit me full force, no holds barred! It worked perfectly with the tonkatsu sauce, which had its own unique flavor that hit me first during that period of delay! I probably sound crazy, so let me explain it again in a much simpler way…
- Sweet and tangy tonkatsu sauce comes first
- Porkiest pork taste to ever pork comes at full force afterwards
- DELICIOUSSSSSSS!
Aside from the Pork Cutlet, the cabbage on the side with a sesame dressing brought a refreshing crunch that helped cut down the greasiness of the fried meat, and the Miso Soup had an insane, exceptional depth of flavor and was so, so good!
Nature Food JUKSTORY, Seoul, South Korea (October 2nd 2024)

Although it was hotter than the hottest circle of hell in Seoul, my sore throat and my poor, sick soul needed something really comforting, and luckily for us, there was a Nature Food JUKSTORY branch right around the corner!
I weakly went up to the staff and ordered their Mushroom & Vegetable Juk (Juk is Korean Rice Porridge!), and after waiting for a bit, I saw the lovely staff (who gave me a complimentary bottle of Yakult! Yahoo!!) put my bowl of Juk down on the table, and I proceeded to get started on scarfing it down like a pig taking slow, careful spoonfuls as I was a classy person!
Anyways, back to the dish! The Juk had a mild, savory flavor on its own, and although it was mild, I want to emphasize that it wasn’t bland by any means. Of course, mixing in the side dishes added more flavor, but it was still excellent on its own!
The season of chill and frost is on its way (I would appreciate it greatly if it expedited its journey and just got here right about now, though), and a good bowl of Juk sounds like the perfect companion for it (although Juk is amazing in any season, let’s be real)!
Nuldam Space, Seoul, South Korea (October 14th 2024)
We had a lovely time at Nuldam Space after visiting the nearby MMCA, thanks to its relaxing ambiance and pleasing aesthetic!

I had the Nuldam Matcha Latte, which had a delicious foam on top that was sweet, nutty, and creamy, and the drink itself was very smooth and delightful!

To accompany my Matcha Latte, I also had the Vegan Brownie (not quite sure if that’s the exact name however…), which was absolutely delicious! It had a foam-like cream on top with a generous sprinkle of coffee powder, and the airy cream with the dense, chocolaty brownie created a lovely contrast! I loved how rich the chocolate was, and I also enjoyed the nuts in the brownie, which brought a lovely texture!
P.S. I forgot to mention this in the original Instagram post, but Nuldam Space also allows its patrons to write letters to someone or even to themselves to be read in the future! Pretty cool, right?!
