With a family-friendly atmosphere, Panini Kabob Grill prides itself on being a “true scratch kitchen” and uses only fresh, high-quality ingredients to prepare healthy yet delicious meals.
After getting my blessings from Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey, we put our pilgrimage to the Hollywood Walk of Fame on hold and headed for Panini Kabob Grill under the recommendation of my sister for lunch!

The Decor:

Both the indoor and outdoor sections (which are pretty sizable, if I may add) had a lovely shade of orange and red in the furniture and decor, which gave a very family-friendly and simple yet slightly classy-but-not-snobby vibe, and I think that was most likely intentional, as Panini’s do have plenty of options for bigger groups of diners and also offer catering services. We chose to sit outside and enjoy the weather from the comfort of the shade above our heads, and I also kept looking around at the views Sunset Boulevard offered, wondering what this place has that inspires so many artists…
Strawberry Lemonade

I ordered myself a glass of their tart and refreshing Strawberry Lemonade ($3.49), which was freshly hand-squeezed and an absolute delight to sip. Y’all know I usually guzzle my drinks like how a data center that literally nobody asked for guzzles water, but I took my sweet time with this one!
Appetizer Combo Platter:

Wanting to not stick with just one appetizer, we ordered the Appetizer Combo Platter ($14.99), which came with three kinds of hummus, tzatziki, falafel, Caprese salad, and pita bread.
Each hummus had a distinct flavor, but all three shared a lovely, earthy taste, and the tzatziki was refreshingly light and creamy. Both paired amazingly well with the pita bread, which was pillow-soft, and I kid you not, we devoured them all within five minutes of them being on our table. Such a pita that you weren’t there to try ’em with me!
As for the falafel, they were crispy and flavorful, and the light, fresh tomatoes and mozzarella in the Caprese salad countered the richness of the hummus.
At the time, I was slightly disappointed with the portion size and wished there was more to sample, but now, in hindsight, especially when I write this review with a much fuller stomach, $14.99 is a pretty great deal for all that you can get; heck, it could even be a meal for one person alone!
Family Style Mediterranean Entree:
For our entree, we opted for the Family Style Mediterranean Entree ($57.99), a dine-in-only item that came with three skewers of chicken and vegetables, plus rice of choice (we picked basmati). It also came with two salads of choice, and we got the…
Caesar Salad:

With a generous amount of Caesar dressing, homemade croutons, shaved parmesan cheese, and crisp lettuce on a gigantic, shield-like plate that could’ve probably saved the assassinated Julius Caesar, the Caesar Salad and its light creaminess, along with the freshness of the greens, definitely served as a great palate cleanser in between bites of the flavorful skewers!
and the…
Mediterranean Greek Salad:

As someone who’s not really a fan of balsamic vinegar, it was sort of hard to bring myself to fully enjoy the Mediterranean Greek Salad, but I will say chomping on the crunchy leafy greens, the cucumbers, and the raw onions was a delight!
Family Style Mediterranean Entree:

Enough about salads; let’s get back to the skewers!
On those huge skewers, you had some insanely juicy pieces of chicken with a lovely smoky and savory flavor, and roasted vegetables such as onions, tomatoes, and green bell peppers, which were even great on their own (I myself am kind of flabbergasted that I actually got bummed when we ate all the bell peppers…).
The skewers lay on top of a bed of basmati rice, and that basmati rice was probably the most delicious I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating! I definitely need to hunt down the folks at Panini and have them disclose the name and brand of that rice!!
It was a great dish, both in terms of the food and the literally gigantic dish it was served on. For a party of five very hungry people, we were FULL and satisfied!
The Staff & Customer Experience:
The staff were freindly and helpful! / although there was a bit of a wait initially to get our drinks and appetizers even though the place wasnt really busy, we were served everything pretty quickjly afterwards. Think its cause everything was made from scratch!
The staff was very friendly and helpful, and I know I say that ALL THE TIME, but I think it’s cool to mention it to show my appreciation for their service!
Aside from the odd initial wait before we got our drinks and our appetizers, even when we practically were the only diners at the restaurant, I can vouch for all five of us and say that we were satisfied overall!
Final Thoughts & LLAMASODA’S FAV:

Would I suggest going all the way to Sunset Boulevard (and losing your mind trying to find a good parking spot if you’re driving) just to eat here? Probably not. But if you’re already in the area and have a group of hungry mouths to feed, head to Panini if y’all want something really filling and delicious! Just practice some patience, though; everything is made from scratch!
